Pressing Instructions
Pressing Instructions
1. Prepare the surface and pre-clean your UV-DTF Sticker.
If necessary, clean the surface of your item with alcohol before applying the sticker. The cleaner the surface, the longer it will resist natural elements, washing and wear. Although it will adhere without this, it is recommended.
After trimming the sticker, place the design face down with the white side up. Using the cushioned end of the squeegee provided, run the squeegee over the entire design, pressing firmly back and forth 2 to 4 times. Additional pressure and repetition should be applied to thin, separate design elements, such as small text.
2. Separating the Clear Sheet from the White Liner
To separate the clear liner from the white backing, make a small tear away from the design. Gently peel the clear backing away, making sure to peel the entire design away from the white backing. In the dojo we have a saying, "Don't peel with your hands, peel with your eyes. Designs with fine lines and small separate elements, such as small text, will peel more slowly. If some parts don't lift, go back over the squeegee and try peeling again from a different angle. With practice, you will get a feel for it.
3. Apply the UV-DTF Sticker to the item
First, identify the placement area on your item.
For smaller designs (4 inches or less), carefully place the design on the placement area using both hands to control placement.
For larger designs (6 inches or larger), you may find it easier to begin placing the decal on one side and end on the other. This will help you control the placement, reduce bubbles under the design, and prevent the backing from wrinkling, which could affect the design elements.
4. Completing the Transfer Process
After placing the design, firmly squeegee it 2-4 times. Peel slowly, watching to ensure all elements stick. Again, the lesson from the Dojo applies here - use your EYES and not just your hands. If any part of the design is not adhering, lay the carrier sheet back down, re-squeegee and try peeling from a different angle.
